Overview

Nanyang offers a delightful journey into authentic Singaporean coffee shop culture right in the heart of MoA Globamaze, Pasay City. Conveniently located along J.W. Diokno Boulevard, this cozy yet bustling spot draws both locals and tourists looking to savor well-crafted Asian comfort food with a modern twist.

The menu’s highlights speak volumes about their culinary focus. Signature dishes like Hainanese Chicken Rice and their homemade nasi lemak stand out as essential tastes of Southeast Asia. The chicken rice here is tender and well-balanced, while the nasi lemak surprises with its rich, aromatic coconut rice that's pleasantly satisfying, often becoming a go-to for returning patrons. For those craving bold flavors, the Shrimp Laksa offers a spicy and complex broth, although it can be an acquired taste due to its rich combination of spices and seafood nuances.

Beyond food, Nanyang shines in its beverage offerings, with traditional staples like Kopi Teh Melaka and ICEA Teh Melaka providing authentic coffee and tea experiences infused with local flavors. Drinks such as the Kopi Jelly Milk Tea introduce an appealing twist for those seeking something different yet familiar. The coffee shop also impresses with classics like homemade barley water and sparkling soda to refresh and cleanse the palate between bites.

The dining space at Nanyang is notably compact, underscoring an intimate and efficient atmosphere. Though limited seating may pose challenges during peak hours, the streamlined pay-and-order system balances customer flow, making visits quick and hassle-free. This setup caters well to busy shoppers at MoA or anyone keen on a casual, quick meal without sacrificing quality.

Nanyang's core audience ranges from young professionals and families to food enthusiasts eager to explore Singaporean and Malaysian flavors without leaving Manila. It appeals particularly to those who appreciate authentic flavors delivered with speed and consistency. The staff's genuine passion for service adds a welcoming touch, enhancing the overall dining experience.

While some dishes, like the curry chicken and cheese chicken chop noodles, may occasionally leave room for more depth or seasoning, the overall quality remains commendable. Customers consistently praise the freshness of ingredients and prompt service. For dessert and light bites, the traditional Nonya Kaya toast paired with a cup of kopi offers a nostalgic finish, blending sweetness and creaminess with subtle, toasty undertones.

In summary, Nanyang successfully bridges cultural heritage and contemporary dining demands. It invites you to indulge in rich Asian flavors—whether through a comforting bowl of laksa, a plate of fragrant chicken rice, or a refreshing cup of coffee—with the vibrant shopping district of MoA as a fitting backdrop. For those seeking a reliable taste of Singaporean staples alongside inventive takes on classic drinks, Nanyang is a worthy stop.

I personally love the nasi lemak compared to the hainanese chicken which was a bit bland for me. I was surprised with nasi lemak tasting soo good. Laksa for me was a bit overwhelming, don’t get me wrong the laksa was rich and tasty but somehow it tasted like crab roe instead of shrimp + coconut milk combined, I was not a fan of the noodles as well. But I guess laksa is not for me. The restaurant’s limited seating capacity can be a bit of a drawback, so it’s advisable to reserve a table before ordering to ensure a comfortable dining experience. I appreciate the convenient pay-to-order system, which makes the process efficient and hassle-free. I would definitely go back for some nasi lemak.

The only down side is when you wanted to change your order but the cashier said it is already punched and can’t be change I mean it was just 30 secs ago when she entered it in the system I believe they can improve their service. Fishball soup was flavorful and comforting, cheesy chicken noodles was a little bland but their best seller here is the hainese style chicken, the milo drink is a must try too. Halal***

The overall experience was great! I was surprised that the food was served earlier than expected (faster than fast food chains). The chicken is cooked well and not-so nakakaumay unlike usual chicken on other restaurants. I also liked the mango sago, though it is not that sweet. I'm not so fond of their soup because it was a bit spicy for me (maybe because of the spices used and it's an Asian cuisine) and it is also a bit bland. I would like to try their other foods next time. Definitely recommend!

The place was clean and the staff were passionate and fast in serving. Ordered the curry chicken and toast, both food taste pretty close but still lacked of something. For the price is very reasonable and definitly can fill your tummy. If the coffee can be served in a glass cup it will be more authetic. Commenting based on a true Nanyang Chinese.

Nanyang is a Singaporean cafe with multiple branches around the city. This branch is at MoA near the entrance that leads out from the main mall to SM department store and is right across Chili's and Onitsuka Tiger. They serve a variety of coffee based drinks as well as tea drinks which you can have hot or iced. Personally I prefer the barley or kopi. They also specialise in toast and their Kaya today is one of their most popular items.
